A Derby Live production at Derby Theatre.

Best friends Vera and Anna have very few things in common... Vera is bold, opinionated, bitter and constantly searching for excitement, whilst Anna is miserable but content to stay in her loveless marriage because at least then other people will think she is happy.

But what they do have in common is that they are both the ‘wrong’ side of 40, both have ‘husband troubles’ and both have an undying love of the Irish singing sensation Daniel O’ Donnell...

The highlight of their year is a trip to Donegal to see their beloved idol in concert. Vera and Anna confront their fears and begin to realise that life doesn’t have to end when HRT begins.

A fabulously feisty, funny and warm-hearted play, written by Olivier award-winning playwright Marie Jones, Women on the Verge of HRT wowed audiences and critics alike during its successful West End run. Described as a kind of “Women Behaving Badly” (BBC) it will have you in stitches one moment and tears the next!

“Take two women of a certain age; add in Ireland’s singing sex icon and you’ve got a hit.” Daily Telegraph

“The audience rocked with laughter.” The Independent on Sunday
